Hello hello!
Tessa Killen (she/her) is a stage manager who thrives on the art of organized chaos. She strives to bring structure, empathy, and artistry together to support the creative process from first rehearsal to final bow. She believes great stage management is equal parts logistics and creativity: balancing precise paperwork, planning, and cue calls with a genuine care for the artistic vision of the actors and design team.
A graduate of Western Kentucky University’s BFA Theatre program, Tessa discovered her passion for stage management through a deep appreciation for storytelling and collaboration. She’s worked on a wide range of productions, from Shakespeare and large-scale musicals to new works and dance concerts, and is drawn to environments where creativity is collaborative and welcoming. This environment is what she hopes to create when creatives walk into her rehearsal spaces.
Tessa approaches every process with warmth, humor, and curiosity. Whether she’s calling a complex cue sequence, helping a performer find calm backstage, or troubleshooting a last-minute prop issue, she finds joy in being the person others can rely on.
Outside the rehearsal room, Tessa enjoys photography, crafting, and spending time in nature — all things that fuel her attention to detail and love for visual storytelling. She is excited to continue building a career where she can support bold, collaborative theatre that connects audiences and artists alike.
